Welcome to my refreshing tomato Paleo smoothie recipe.
Tomatoes are one of my favourite foods. I remember as a kid my grandad having an allotment and growing his own. They are absolutely delicious and so full of flavour. Even now when I smell fresh tomatoes that are on the vine I think about him and his allotment.
When I was pregnant with my 1st child my craving throughout my pregnancy was tomatoes and I could never seem to have enough of them. They were never ending and like an addict I was constantly waiting for my next fix!
Whenever I make a salad the tomatoes always seem to be the main part of the dish and when served with basil is involved (or oregano) I am there even quicker.
Plus tomatoes have lots of vitamins in them and are perfect for your day to day diet. That is why I have put together a refreshing Paleo smoothie for you, so that you can enjoy the best of the fresh tomatoes.
- 3 Large Ripe Tomatoes
- ½ Red Pepper
- 1 Celery Stalk
- Salt & Pepper
- Pinch Cayenne Pepper
- A Couple Basil Leaves
- So before the ingredients go into the blender you need to do some prep. Firstly take the stalk out of the middle of the tomato by chopping the tomato into quarters and cutting at an angle the stalk from the top. Do this for each of the tomatoes.
- Then wash all the fresh herbs and celery to get rid of any soil. Then you can add everything into your blender except the ice cubes and turn it on. After it is well mixed decide if you want to add the ice cubes if the mixture is too strong or if you like to pour the mixture over the ice cubes in the glass.
- Taste and adjust as you like.
