Welcome to Paleo at 30 weeks pregnant.
I am officially 30 weeks pregnant and looking forward to having a new baby in my life not so long into the future. But I am also at that point when tiredness is a daily thing in my life which often leads to eating the wrong things and to not moving very much.
Well…..I am not exercising so let’s get that confession out of the way. I should be of course but after working full time the last thing you actually want to do is exercise. I am also really lacking energy thanks to anaemia. But as I am active in general from everyday life and chasing a toddler about, I am getting some exercise but doing specific exercise is a different story.
I am eating healthy though. Well most of the time that is. I would say right now I am about 90% Paleo. Not perfect but not as bad as I have been on previous pregnancies.
I love having homemade burgers, salads, vegetables cooked in coconut oil and I adore cauliflower rice. Though I have had some of Dominic’s homemade chocolate chip cookies and some pasta. But I am all for the bad stuff in moderation!
My biggest problem food wise is not the sticking to Paleo but managing to get three balanced meals inside me per day. The joys of morning sickness, the heat and such like means that I am struggling to eat twice a day. For example yesterday I had fruit for breakfast and then fruit and avocado in the evening. This of course is really not enough for when you’re pregnant so I need to work on this.
As the weeks move forward the weight goes on and on and on. I find myself heavier than I was at the same time in pregnancy with my daughter and my weight matches that of her at 33 weeks. I did have a lot more morning sickness with her though so I started off on a minus. And of course this time it is a boy – but it still has you very self conscious about your size.
Though don’t expect me to name my weight as I am too shy for that one! But lets say from my start of pregnancy until now I am still under the recommended 30 pounds weight gain in a healthy pregnancy. Plus once I start running and sticking to a set amount of calories and being 100% Paleo after birth, I am sure it will fly off me!
