Hello everyone and a big welcome to my about page here on Heavy2Healthy!
My name is Stacey and I live in London with my husband and two kids. To celebrate turning 16 weeks pregnant I decided to share my journey with you. I have currently gained 8 pounds (so far) and have gone up into a size 14 from a size 12. With a total weight of 11st12 which gives me a BMI of 25.2.
There is so much pressure on women when they are pregnant to stay as slim as possible and to eat perfectly. I wanted to find something that worked for me but allowed me to cheat from time to time and that is when Paleo and the ideas behind heavy2healthy came along….
I have done Paleo a bit in the past, mainly to lose weight. I have never felt like I have 100% stuck to it, well apart from a round of Whole 30 so this will be very interesting to see me doing it for the sake of me and my baby rather than just for looking good in a bikini!
You see I was once obese and being pregnant frightens me. The thought that I am going to return to my old habits and eat really unhealthy just because I was brought up to believe that you eat for two when pregnant. Or the fact that this pregnancy (my third) I am gaining weight much quicker than I did with my other two.
Join me in my ups, my downs and join me as I share with you what it means for me to be Paleo in pregnancy and to use Paleo to lose my final few pounds after the baby is born.
I will try my best to stick to Paleo as much as I can. I can not promise that I wont give in to the odd trip to McDonalds, or eat more chocolate or bread than I should. But I always promise to eat healthy and be Paleo the majority of the time. One month this might be 70% and other times it might be 80% it just depends on how healthy I am feeling and what the baby wants me to eat!
